Roots started with a straightforward concept and the ambition to realize it. In 1973, Michael Budman and Don Green founded Roots. They drew inspiration from their love for Ontario’s Algonquin Park and all it signified for them. Launching in Toronto with footwear, Roots expanded to offer high-quality leather bags, jackets, accessories, their iconic salt & pepper sweats, clothing made from natural fibers, and home decor. The leather goods have always been, and are still, crafted in Canada at our Toronto factory.
